Abstract

Cloud computing has revolutionized the way IT infrastructure is managed in the modern world, offering services that are highly scalable, flexible, and cost-effective. Nevertheless, the everchanging nature of cloud computing poses major cybersecurity threats, ranging from data breaches, insider threats, DDoS attacks, and advanced persistent threats. Conventional cybersecurity systems cannot effectively counter the ever-changing nature of cybersecurity threats. Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology-based Intrusion Detection System (IDS) and mitigation techniques have been developed to address the issue of cybersecurity threats in cloud computing environments. This paper will discuss the role of AI in intrusion detection and mitigation in cloud computing environments, the various techniques used in IDS, the various challenges associated with AI-based IDS, and finally propose a framework for intelligent cloud computing management systems.
