The practice of granting unfettered online access to peer-reviewed scholarly journal articles is known as open access (OA). The entire texts of these articles can be read, downloaded, copied, distributed, printed, searched, linked to, and crawled for indexing by any users with access to the public internet at no cost. Nevertheless, there are still expenses associated with publication, such as copyediting, proofreading, digital display and preservation, DOI registration, and work marketing and distribution.
A Gold Open Access model is employed here. Under this approach, all articles are made permanently and freely accessible online as soon as they are published, without requiring a subscription or registration. When an article is accepted, the Article Processing Charges are usually covered by the author's research funding, their institution, or a funder. All of the journal's articles are printed under the Creative Commons Attribution License 4.0.(CC-BY), which permits readers to reuse the content as long as correct citations are supplied. The author(s) of the work may still retain copyright to their creations.
Researchers can utilize articles in new ways thanks to Open Access, which lowers restrictions by employing a liberal copyright license. Included in this are techniques such as text mining and meta-analysis that help identify scientific trends that would not be apparent at the level of individual papers. The present policy on open access aligns with the concept of open access provided by the Budapest Open Access Initiative's (BOAI).
